How we met…
There are these really cheesy commercials on the television from eharmony.com showing these couples hugging and dancing and twirling around being so in LOVE. When I met Josh there was no twirling and dancing, but we really are so in LOVE.

April 1, 2004. Josh and I met when eHarmony matched us up based on our 29 points of compatibility, or whatever their copyrighted personality test shows. We started emailing while Josh was deployed under Operation Iraqi Freedom, and met just a few months later. I was in school at the time, and one of my instructors and a few of my classmates would ask me for updates all the time. I sent Josh a care package while he was deployed (Josh: and the chocolate chip cookies were reeeeealy good!). It was interesting being pen-pals for awhile before we met, because I feel like we really learned a lot about each other prior to meeting.

June 6, 2004, at the martini bar in the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Sacramento, we finally met. It was amazing! I couldn’t stop smiling, Josh held my hand the whole night, and it was perfect. So perfect I didn’t even answer my friend’s “safety calls,” since she was worried about me going on an internet date- with a pilot of all people! Pretty much every weekend after that either I drove up to Reno, or Josh drove down to Sacramento, until I moved to Reno in July 2005 to be closer to Josh.

April 19, 2008. The attorney I worked for in Reno had a gift certificate for a historic hotel in Virginia City, Nevada. Josh and I agreed to go, so we booked a little overnight. We drove up that morning, and toured the graveyard- I love historic graveyards. Then we walked around Virginia City, and did the old mine tour. We got back to the hotel, and Josh was fussing with the fireplace flue. He said, “I can’t get this. Can you come help me please?” I walked over, and being a smarty-pants, told him that first you have to check the flue. I reached up to grab the handle, and thought, well that’s a funny way to mark a flue handle... there was a blue carabineer hanging from the flu with a diamond ring hanging from it. I said, “What is that?” All of a sudden REALIZING what was hanging in front of me, I hit Josh on the shoulder and I was just starting to cry when I asked him again, “What IS that?” (Josh: And I won’t let her forget that’s what she did!) Then Josh got down on one knee, and asked me to spend the rest of our lives together. And, here we are!

May 22, 2009... The first day of the rest of our lives together…
